VP004 is a single release and the first in our new remix series. We wanted to see what other artists that we like and respect could do with Hidden Depths the first track from Voodoo & Prayers. We were looking for totally different interpretations of the original and Amsterdam based DJ/Producer Justin Steel was first up. He has Perfected and sculpted a haunting take on the original with a complete rework on the percussion and arrangement of the drums. Pushing and highlighting what were nuances in the original and bringing these to the forefront of his vision.
Being that the original track and Robert Babicz's epic remix where both downtempo to create a version that gives life to the main room setting with still capturing the fundamental elements of the original is ticking every box for us and is exactly what we wanted to bring together with this series. The finished article is a spectacular arrangement and we could not have asked for more to start the series.
Having released his music on labels such as Coincidence Records, Tulipa, Baroque, Something Different, Stripped Recordings, We Are Here, Base Legere, Rebeat Music and lots more, we are very grateful that he decided to grace us with his talent.
